British Gas adding accounts

 I'm with British Gas have been for years. I am regularly getting notifications from clearscore that a new account is being added. When I check British Gas are removing gas and electricity accounts and adding new ones. This has happened 3 times so far. 

 I know the score isn't real but according to their scores mine goes down every time this happens.

 Why would British Gas be doing this and why would clearscore think it affects my credit worthiness?

 I haven't phoned them this time. The first time it happened they claimed it was because they where changing their billing system

Are you on their Price Promise tariff? I am and have noticed that when the price cap changes (and therefore my tariff) a soft search is performed and a new account is set up.  It is not changing my score, which as you say is pretty meaningless.

 No i'm still on sv not even enquired about moving tariffs with them yet
