I'm too mean (moneysaving?) to pay a third party for storage ;)
Having had a family member that had a major fire that took out their computers and NAS resulting in the loss of all their photos/videos etc then having an offsite/cloud based backup may not be "money saving" but can avoid a total loss of these things.
My NAS backs up every night to another in a location many miles away.   So I might lose a days worth of stuff should my property be destroyed but no more than that.

Agreed that off-site backup is a good idea.

Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

Gut reaction says that having a second property just for doing backups is a lot less money saving than a cloud storage solution ;)

Not having a second property I wouldn't know the costs involved but I suspect higher than a monthly subscription to a Cloud backup service. :D
