Retain use of holiday flat

My partner has just been diagnosed with a very serious cancer. She has a holiday home in the UK that she would like me to continue to enjoy should she die but the benefit would transfer to her step-daughter when I die or can no longer make use of the home. We are not married or in a civil partnership. I have read of a thing called a lifetime interest trust but don't know if this was banned by the 2006 law. We will be seeking professional advice so just trying to do our research before that meeting.

Your partner needs a will. An IPDI trust is a fairly standard part of many wills, particularly in this sort of situation.
Given it's a blended family situation, she should see a STEP solicitor. And perhaps when she contacts them ask for a prompt appointment as they need to draft it, get her approval and then get the final version signed by her and witnessed. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1 -
Can't help but hope you both find some joy out of the holiday home before things get worse.
