What is wrong with what I advised you to actually send to them? You need to be robust with these scammers. None of the "kindly" do this or that. You are letting the know that you are not low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree and you fully expect to defend against their scam.

Wring anything as an appeal is fruitless. At least bare your teeth with a snottogram.

Plus I will also complain to the landowner (East Midlands Airport) and see if that gets me anywhere.

I seem to recall from other EMA threads that there is an issue with the landowner agreement, just so you know ready for court stage. Don't mention it now but read a good ten or more other EMA VCS Airport threads and you'll discover it.

***UPDATE***

I've had a response from East Midlands Airport (EMA), they've said they will contact VCS and get them to cancel the fine. 

Thanks to everyone that contributed on this thread and to everyone that helped put the Newbie thread together. Such useful information.
