Waiting for buyers' surveyor to arrange visit - how long does this take from instruction?

Hi All,

How long does it usually take from instruction of a surveyor to ring and make an appointment to visit your property? Once they have visited, how long does it take for the buyers to receive a report? I believe it to be a level 2 homebuyers survey

It has been a really long process, and we are ready to move to our new property, so hence why I'm so concerned with timing!

Many thanks,

As a buyer it was less than two weeks from online instruction to receiving the report by email. This was last summer in South Wales.

I got mine recently (level 2 with rebuild and valuation) - 3 days from instruction to survey and then 2 days to report. 5 days all-in. City location.

it takes as long as it takes. if the surveyor is part of a small company and one of them goes sick then, as with a friend of mine yesterday, it took 4 weeks before they had anyone available to come

Normally a couple of weeks for them to do the survey, then another couple of weeks for the report.  Some buyers don't instruct the surveyor until further down the line, when they have made progress with the legal work if they are a cash buyer.  I didn't get a surveyor come round until two months after the offer was accepted as it was a cash buyer.
