At one point, it looked like Meal Deals might be on their way out, or at least set to get more expensive, but there are still some good deals out there.

- Sainsburys - a range of sandwiches, wraps and other main items, with a side of savoury or sweet options and a drink - generally £3.50 without requiring loyalty card.    Best tip:  sides include certain premium nut & muesli bars, and drinks include selected smoothies and chilled coffee.

- Morrisons - a range of sandwiches, wraps and other main items, sides of savoury & sweet items, and drinks.   Generally £3.50 with Morrisons More Card or £4 otherwise.   Best tip:  substitute a  medium salad box from the salad bar for a sandwich.   There is also a premium meal deal.

- McDonald's Mix & Match promotion - a selection of menu items available on an offer price of 3 for £3.   Includes basic burgers, 4 chicken nuggets, small fries or side salad, apple pie, mini McFlurry.   As with some of McD's other offers, there are no drinks in the offer.

Apparently M&S now do a lunch deal at £5.50 if I recall.  I bought one the other day but the discount didn't go through so perhaps you need to scan your Sparks card to qualify

I’m a fan of the Co-op meal deals and the Tesco ones.

If you have a loyalty card for Co-op you get your meal deal for £3.50. Also, if you use the app you get weekly offers tailored to your spending and you can choose two. So, for example, if you get 50p off Diet Coke you can use that in your meal deal and get it for £3. They include some Lindt chocolate bars in their meal deals which are quite expensive, I find this to be a cheap way to get a little bit of luxury during the working day.

The Tesco deal is £3.40 with their club card. They have quite a big range with lots of choice for drinks and snacks. You can get some of the double chocolate bars included in the meal deal too. They do a Southern friend chicken wrap that I really like. They also have a luxury £5 meal deal which includes Yo sushi and Itsu items but I can’t say I’ve ever stretched to that!
