According to the BBC2's Working Lunch programme today, STAYWARM (who provided unmetered gas and electric to the over 60s) were to get rid of some customers for using too much energy.
However, they are now making an offer to keep those customers with high energy usage providing they pay a new high-use tariff. It seems this will apply to almost 10% of its customer base.
I use STAYWARM (having joined when they took disabled under sixty). And as I have a water meter I must be one of the few to use unmetered gas and electric but metered water!

To a large extent, I think the apparent backtracking on Powergen's part is due to Martin's intervention - see his earlier thread on the subject.
They may be big but they don't like it when a journalist who knows what he's talking about confronts them.30 years, 217 days!0
