Solar Panel Pigeon Mesh Installation Gone Wrong in 2 Weeks!! (Pigeons are back)

Hi, I spent £1500 to install a Pigeon Mesh for my Solar Panels in Jan'24. On advice from installer engagaed scaffolder £1000 and paid Mesh installer £500 - paid both seperately by cash!! As I work from home in the loft, the pigeons can be frustratingly noisey! The installer has promised to come and fix mesh when the weather gets better without the need to do scaffolding. Now that the weather is good and when contacted he's not responding for past 10 days. His company is online with multiple good reviews! Can I make a claim? Can I leave review with pictures? What is the best approach? Any advice is appreciated - thanks.

How have you tried contacting him? Phone? E-mail?

I'd phone using a different phone number just to see if he answers, and then you'll know if he's avoiding you or not! I'd perhaps then send a slightly more passive-aggressive email saying that the work you paid £1500 was unsuccessful, and could he please let you know urgently when he is able to come and sort this out, as the pigeon noise is disruptive. I'd then say that if he is unable to do this himself, then can he let you know and you'll sort someone else to do it then you can claim the cost back from him.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

He was in touch before when the weather was bad. However, he has not responded to my calls or texts in the last 10 days as the weather is better. He's reading the messages but not picking phone or responding to messages sent.

As above, try phoning from a different mobile and if he answers, then he was avoiding you!

If he doesn't answer, then message him giving him a deadline by when to get in touch, and perhaps say he if is too busy, then if he prefers you can get someone else to do the work and send him the bill! See what he says!

He's conveniently arranged to visit after the deadline you've set, to delay you. As him which day.
