I'm in same situation. Ordered in stock item on Dec 10th, they did not post til 17th arrived 27th! Contacted them to arrange return and refund. They said no problem but that I need to send it by recorded delivery! Item was only £5 and will prob cost me as much to return (it's a calender, large packet). Argh!
That said, I have purchased lots and lots from play in the past and never had a problem so think it was just an Xmas one-off.* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Play.com will refund postage costs if the item is faulty - don't know if it would apply in this case but worth asking.0
