Stolen Sorn vehicle
Hello. I had a motorcycle on Sorn … it had no insurance or mot - ran out in April …it was likely going to be scrapped when I got round to it .
However it has now been stolen. I have got a crime number but I cannot find online how to go about retaining my personalised number plate . All the online info I find says it must have mot at time of theft ….bit it was sorn so surely can’t be expected to have mot.
Can anyone advise if and how I will be able to keep my personalised plate ?
Tried ringing dvla but no one answers .
Thank you

As your vehicle is not available for inspection, it is not eligible for a plate transfer according to this, although I managed to transfer a plate despite an accidental three month gap in tax the year before which is also supposed to prevent it

It doesn't sound like it needs an MOT and it's only just expired, so I'd be tempted to fill out the online form to transfer the plate away and hope the DVLA don't ask to inspect the new non-existant bike.
