Car Insurance checker Tool

My insurance quote is 208% higher than last year so I decided to use Martin's tool.
Fine until it wanted my driving licence number. It refused to accept the last two letters, and I was forced to omit the licence number.
Result three quotes from companies I have never heard of. How do you query this type of problem?
Note Compare the market is happy with my number!

I'm not sure what you want to query and with whom.
It is optional anyway to include your licence number and if you want to include it just leave off the last 2 digits.
I always try a few different comparison sites anyway and once I have my preferred provider I make sure to go through all the points on their own website.

The tool is simply MoneySupermarket rebadged, they own this site these days after Martin sold it a long time ago. Historically they were always the most basic of the solutions and were still estimating premiums long after confused.com etc had digital interfaces with insurers to give faster real results.

Ultimately shop around which includes using more than one aggregator

I've found that the insurance comparison tool on Topcashback gives some good results, and have had £40-£45 cashback too which is also very welcome.

  • I've had an email from MSE stating they inserted the full licence number with no problems. Since I attempted 3 times I still don't understand.
However, I have moved on to other comparisons sites with good results.
