More like £500 to £1K, based on previous purely administrative FUBAR cases.Marcon said:
You're confusing two things. There is no doubt that DWP fell short on the communications aspect of the change in pension ages, or we wouldn't be subjected to all the WASPI/E nonsense now.Brie said:
Not trying to hijack but why would there not be supporters on this board who think that the change in ages for women to get SP was mishandled??Silvertabby said:There's no Government form to complete. Are you thinking of the WASPE mob membership application form?
You won't find many WASPE supporters on these boards, but in view of your ill health I'll try to help as much as I can.
Briefly, so-called WASPE women were born between 6 April 1950 and 5 April 1960. If you fall within this very exact time scale, then there's nothing for you to do. The Government are still considering the report and recommendations, but nothing has been decided yet. Compo, if awarded, will be automatic so please don't waste any money on WASPE membership fees.
However, only a small fraction of the women who fall into the age bracket impacted by the change are actually WASPi women, despite the media lumping everyone of that age into the description 'WASPI women'. The vast majority knew about the change in retirement age and aren't constantly banging the drum for money they wrongly believe they are 'owed'.
Compensation, if any is ever paid, will be a few thousand at most.0 -
Because most think the change was so heavily publisced by the media in the mid 90s that it'd be impossible not to know about it. So a letter from DWP in the 2000s was pretty irrelevantBrie said:

Impending general election on 4 July will mean all government business will now pretty much go on a back burner, pending the election outcome.

I have always found it intensely annoying to be referred to a 'a WASPI' woman, even though I fall into the age category.Marcon said:

I agree that the vast majority knew about the change to state pension age - even some of those 'banging the drum' who have stated publicly they didn't know.
And in the past, a lot of women posters on MSE who fall into the WASPI age bracket have been very supportive of financial action for those women who have actually been seriously disadvantaged by the state pension age change.
Just not supportive of those 1st class travelling, champagne drinking WASPE members.2
