Amazon Fire Tablet - email needed?

I just got Fire Max 11 (£90 sealed from ebay) and think it's great for the price. Did have to tinker with it to get it set up how I wanted it.Undervalued said:
Frankly I hate the Fire 8 for all kinds of reasons and certainly wouldn't buy another. Maybe the Fire 10 is better?Neil_Jones said:As I say you need access to the Amazon Store for those. Which you need an Amazon account for. Which you need an email address for, and I'm pretty sure Facetime will also need an Apple account as well, which itself needs an email.AFAIK Whatsapp is not officially available on Fire Tablets, though you should be able to use the Web version through the web browser.

Thanks for your reply. I cannot get Google Photos on the Fire tablet, only Amazon photos. I didn't think of a memory card, it has a slot for one so might have to give this is go.PHK said:If you can get Google Photos on the fire tablet then it’s as simple as creating a shared album in your Google Photos , this will then appear in your mums Google Photos and you can both save photos to it and both see the photos.Otherwise you’ll need to email them and save. Or save them to a memory card that you put in the fire tablet.
Yes you can by installing the Google play store on the Fire. It is easy to find instructions online about how to do this. Basically you need to change a couple of settings from the default then manually download four APKs using the web browser. Once done you then have access to everything on the Google Play store, most of which will run fine.
If you go down that route I would still download any apps you want from the Amazon App store, if they are available there, otherwise updates can get tangled.
The Amazon app store is very limited in some respects, one of the many reasons I wouldn't buy another Fire tablet.
Yes, they are cheap, certainly when the regular offers are on and the screen quality is respectable, but that is about all the good I have to say about them!1 -
Take my advice and follow the numerous YouTube vids showing how to install the Google Play Store onto your Fire tablet. It runs the apps fine and is a lot more extensive than the limited Amazon app store. Takes 15 minutes at most.1

Also, use tools to debloat it and use a better launcher, my choice is Nova.tonygold said:Take my advice and follow the numerous YouTube vids showing how to install the Google Play Store onto your Fire tablet. Does the play store app update itself once installed?Undervalued said:

Some apps will require a manual update (your tablet will inform you of these). Not a massive faff considering the benefits of running the Google Play Store.bob2302 said:

It does depend on the setting, I manually update all apps.tonygold said:
