Accidentally left dashcam in lease car
Options
I leased a car and left my dashcam in it stuck to the windscreen. It's a tiny thing behind the rear view mirror, so I didn't notice it and neither did the inspector.
BCA were the company that collected the car. I e-mailed them literally an hour after the inspection about it, and then sent them 6 more e-mails to various addresses. Some of them replied saying you need customer services and forwarded/cc'd me into them.
However they haven't replied. It has been 2 weeks.
I don't know what to do to escalate it. Surely they have a procedure for this, even if I have to pay shipping or come and collect it from their offices. I don't know how to escalate it because I can't see a complaints procedure and when I googled it and tried to raise a complaint someone responded saying they can't do anything as I e-mailed the wrong department or something.
They must be a member of certain bodies, it looks like they're part of some auctioneering ones which require a complaints procedure, but I honestly don't know what to do.
Any ideas? I'd like my dashcam back, it cost me about 60 quid I think plus the micro sd card was another 10 or 15.

After two weeks, BCA won't have the car let alone the dashcam.
The car would have been straight into the auction as the finance company would want to release their investment in it asap.
Your dashcam is long gone.7 -
For £60-70, chalk it up to experience and move on.
Nobody you'll be able to speak to has even seen your car.3 -
The buyer of an ex lease car is going to get a free dash cam. Every cloud and all that.

I get that the camera is gone but surely having contacted them literally the same day they have some duty to return it?
