What payment plan was agreed before going ahead?kitchen_woes said:Thanks everyone for the advice.
Some very concerning information has come to light about the both the company and the salesman we have been dealing with since we paid the deposit, and we are not happy to proceed with full payment upfront unless we have some protection. So am I right in thinking if we pay the remaining 30k by debit/credit card (we’d probably have to spread the payments across both) we could do a chargeback if the company doesn’t turn up 4 weeks later on the date agreed for delivery and installation?
It's highly unusual to ask for full payment you front and I would absolutely NOT be doing this.
I would negotiate payment terms u less you agreed to the entire amount upfront, or ask for a refund of your deposit.
I'd offer the next £15k when a certain amount has been built/completed then the final £15k upon completion.
I'd be very concerned if they continue to insist on £45k up front.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Depends what the £45k is for... physical goods only or the fitting as well. If it doesn't include fitting then it would be fairly normally to need to pay for it in full before the goods are delivered. We didnt proceed with it, for some odd reason, but one kitchen company did quote over what the OP is paying without including fitting.pinkshoes said:

That's very true, but the OP does mention installation in their first post, so at £45k I've made the assumption that a large chunk of this will be the cost of installation. Having just had a bathroom fitted, I was quite surprised at how much the labour element was!DullGreyGuy said:
