Who can help me write a book? Is there dedicated sites etc?
genuine post here. I have an idea that I want to write a book. I have the characters in my head. I just don’t know where to start. I realise there is virtually no chance of it ever being published but I still want to do it as a hobby. Is there any dedicated sites for this?
Thanks all.

There are a number of short BBC Maestro writing courses available all given by very well known writers. They are currently available with 40% off.

Many of the Google search sites are scams
Many so called "successful authors" spouting their expertise are self published on Amazon and sold 2 copies . So they can show a genuine Amazon listing for their book but it doesn't show sales .

The Flight of FrankFalcon
In the heart of a bustling city, tucked away in a small apartment filled with stacks of books and the faint scent of coffee, lived a man named FrankFalcon. Frank, as his friends called him, was an ordinary man with an extraordinary dream: he wanted to write a book. Not just any book, but a tale that would resonate with readers, touching their hearts and sparking their imaginations.
FrankFalcon worked as a librarian by day, a job that allowed him to be surrounded by the very thing he loved most – stories. He would spend hours shelving books, recommending reads to eager patrons, and losing himself in the pages of novels during his lunch breaks. But every evening, as the city lights flickered on and the library doors closed, Frank would retreat to his cozy apartment, where he would sit at his old wooden desk, staring at a blank screen.
For years, Frank had been nurturing the seed of a story. It was a tale of adventure, friendship, and self-discovery, set in a fantastical world where the boundaries of reality and dreams blurred. Yet, every time he attempted to start, doubt crept in. The fear of failure loomed large, whispering that his words might never live up to the stories that had inspired him.
One crisp autumn evening, as the leaves danced in the wind outside his window, Frank made a decision. He would no longer let fear dictate his actions. With a steaming cup of tea by his side and his cat, Whiskers, purring softly in his lap, he opened a new document and began to type........

There are some great resources on YouTube, just search for what you are struggling with like how to develop a main character or how to develop a character arch. There are so many amazing authors on there sharing their tips and tricks. Try and find one that has actually published a book or two. Also they usually have good advice about ways to publish.-1

This thread feels like its going to turn into spam links for "vanity publishing" scam sites"And suddenly I find myself listening to a man I've never known before,Telling me about the sea..."0

Honestly, just write what's in your head.Rather than go on courses, watch videos etc on how to write, just sit down and READ books, ones which are of the genre you think you want to write in.By reading them, and analysing them in your head as you read, you'll have a better idea how to lay out your own writing, how and when to introduce characters etc. Not all the books you read will be good, but the ones you feel are poor will also give you guidance as to what you should avoid when writing your own. But, most of all, it should be YOUR writing, YOUR story, in YOUR words, not what other people think is right. And, by the way, you can always self-publish if you don't think a publisher will take it, it's easy to do on Amazon.1
