It's just a guide.
It seems Halifax have a promotional push on atm. I was emailed about the card yesterday, which has never previously happened

Yeah even I got offered a card by Halifax and my credit history is quite poor at the moment.0

MSE is not the lender, neither they, nor the CRAs, can ultimately do more than guessing based on the limited info they can see on your file. Always do a soft search on the bank website for more reliable data (and then look to see if any cashback sites have offers for the card!)Nico60 said:I’ve just checked my eligibility for the Halifax Clarity CC on this site and been informed I am not eligible for it, yet when I go straight to the Halifax bank website and input my details they offer the exact same card with no problems, even with a higher credit limit than I had asked for, how can this be, and has anyone else found this problem?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

MSE have a £20 cashback offer on the clarity card just now (in the weekly email). Gutted I applied direct and didn't realise.Superhoopza said:

I had a recommended Tesco card I think it was from one of the CRAs when I was looking to do another stoozing related bump, it was I think 90% or something, went on Tesco site, soft search said yes, applied via TopCashBack and got £25 for it. The reason I mentioned guessing as well for the OP was I had a similar one a few months before where Virgin was 100% pre-approved, I didn't need it per se but was worth a gamble and that went to manual review and rejected by them.ForumUser7 said:Nasqueron said:

Maybe you should look into that, I’ve looked twice on the Halifax site recently and they are offering the £20 bonus straight from them.ForumUser7 said:Nasqueron said:
