Cooker Hood extraction ducting help!

I recently bought a cooker hood from ebay, arrived the other day and looks excellent! Now, the thing is it turns out it is High out put hood, which requires 150mm ducting, not normal 100mm ducting. I am finding it very troublesome to get hold of 150mm ducting components. Screwfix do 150mm flexible fireretardant hose, so thats sorted. Toolstation do a exterior vent for 150mm, so thats sorted.

But, I can readily get much more than that! Would it be okay to fit the hose through the wall and straight onto the vent, rather than using a hard section of ducting? and pass straight though the plaster board of the ceiling or do I need some sort of collar?

I can't see anyreal issue other than it may get deformed a little when I cement in around the ducting after making a hole?

Any comments or thoughts?

Carry on, just use a sealant / mastic between the vent and hose to seal gaps and hold together.
