Who supplies my gas?

My house has a gas supply but we do not receive a bill. I have tried the various websites, to find out who is my supplier, but according to these sites my address doesn't exist. Not a bad problem to have, but we're now looking to move house, so ought to get it sorted.......although we've never had a gas bill, so presumably the people who sold to us were in the same position.

Hi. Have you tried putting your post code in here. https://www.findmysupplier.energy/ If your address is not on there it is likely that your supply is shipperless. This means you have no retailer to charge you for the gas used. You can apply to Cadent (the wholesaler) for the supply to be regularised and get on the register. We had a meter at my son’s flat but the supply was shipperless. It wasn’t on the register. Cadent came out and said that the supply was illegal and that it needed reinstalling. It appears a previous owner had hot connected (they hadn’t turned the gas off and just connected it) to next door’s supply. We paid a set fee of £500 and Cadent put new pipes in. Cadent then charged us for the gas used for the time before it was resolved. Fortunately we had some meter readings so we could prove how much gas had been used.Either way if you have a gas supply and not been paying you might have to pay someone for it.If your supply is shipperless it’s worth having a Google to see how other people have resolved it.0
