    Regardless of power difference, the weight difference means I prefer using my corded mower over the hefty battery mower

    Obviously you choose the mower to suit your use. I was responding to a comment about them having less “oomph” 

    But I think you’re wrong to say that corded mowers keep going. Remember cable lengths are limited for safety. I also disagree about getting slower. In all but the cheapest mowers the battery doesn’t directly power the motor, it either supplies full power or needs recharging.   If you have a large garden then battery or petrol is the way to go (golf courses tend to use electric battery mowers with cutting times in hours)

    If you need a longer cable you use an extension - it's not dangerous.
