Gas smart meter fitted but not showing on smart meter

Hi all
I have had an electric smart meter for a few years and have only just got a smart meter fitted last week.
My smart meter is still showing the electricity readings but it's not showing the gas readings. Is this normal and can it easily be fixed? I'm waiting for Octopus to come back and confirm next steps but I would have thought this would have been updated at the time of installation and never thought to check this with the engineer before they left.

Ok - your terminology is a bit confused at the moment, so first up. The thing with an LED screen that shows the readings from the electric meter is the In House Display - or IHD. The unit that sends those readings to that box is the electricity smart meter, and what you have just had fitted is the gas smart meter.As I understand it it can take a few days for the IHD to start showing the readings when a new smart meter is installed. My app only shows electricity and has no gas option. Only way to submit a reading would be manually for gas.0

I had smart meters installed last week and Octopus wanted my final meter reading from the old gas meter - I had read it the on the day before installation, but it should also be on a sticker on the new meter. I was issued an invoice for that reading and it took a few days for the new meter to appear on my account, they seem to treat it as a brand new account.
