Group Nexus - Parking fine paid but still being chased for payment

Hi there. I am
new to this website and couldnt find anywhere on the newbies thread covering my situation. Basically I parked at a private car park in Liverpool and was fined £60 as they claimed I parked there without paying. This was incorrect as I had booked and paid for it in advance and changed cars so I changed the car reg online but apparently it didnt go through. I appealed and they downsized the fine to £20 if I paid within two weeks. I went to pay online and via phone but both were asking for £60 instead of £20 so I ended up sending a postal order for the amount - it was received and signed for at the postoffice where their PO Box is a couple of days later - over a week before the two week deadline. I thought that was the end of the matter. Since then I have received a letter advising I still havent paid and the amount has gone up to £100 - deadline for payment is tomorrow. I have sent an email to their appeals email address plus the companies complaints email with evidence of the postal order/signed for delivery etc and they still havent responded. Citizens Advice couldnt give me any more advice than what I had done plus my local MP has written to the company ceo but they have advised that the ceo isnt under any obligation to reply.
i just don’t know what to do - Im really worried that they will write to me again and I will end up with a CCJ which I can’t have on my creditscore as we need to renew our mortgage next year. Im desperate for advice please. I don't want to pay these people £100 when I already paid what they asked for.

Please read the Newbies/FAQ thread before you go any further. There is no way you can "just end up" with a CCJ if you understand the process. Stop worrying about that. Now that you're here, it isn't going to happen.
Follow the advice and you won't be paying a penny to these scammers. However, you may have wasted your £20 postal order (do people still use those? How archaic).
Please confirm which GroupNexus parking firm is involved. Which car park? Please show us both sides of the NtK, including all dates but with your personal data, VRM and PCN number redacted.
Can you prove that the postal order has been cashed?
Once we've seen those we can advise further.2 -
Impossible to "just get" a CCJ as long as you don't let them hold two addresses for you. Don't move house without telling them.
The deadline is not tomorrow.
You will not be paying them and shouldn't have paid the £20. Don't panic.

Thank you both for your help - sorry I have been slow to respond I have just finished work. Having just checked my emails it seems the PCN has now been closed and they are no longer pursuing any further money claims. Whatever my MP did must have worked? Apologies for wasting your time although I know where to go should I find myself in this situation again - hopefully never again!4
