Hi I received a call from the above number & he said he was calling from the DWP, a few months ago I submitted a pip form for the 3rd time for Mixed anxiety Depressive Disorder & having a cardiovascular disease & heart surgery, I was sent a letter to say I would have a phone assessment on the 14th may 2024 I really wasn’t up to the call that morning & didn’t answer & 2 days later I got a call from that number but he only asked me to confirm my name address national insurance number & gp details, & then hung up & it’s left me over the edge anxious & I won’t phone them back, has anybody had anything like this before, also after the call I got a text saying I will shortly receive a how your disability affects you form which I have already completed & got a text to say they had received it with a date for assessment several weeks ago & also after they text to say they had my form I got a phone call from my gp surgery asking me to attend asap the same day as they was concerned about my mental health I did attend the surgery where I was met with a mental health practitioner who asked several questions & typed away & shortly after leaving the surgery I got a text saying I may need to attend a assessment.

Update I phoned pip helpline & they said a copy of the assessment report was sent out on the 15th may & that the call I received was genuine I don’t understand how a report can be sent out if I didn’t attend the assessment

 If you fail to attend your appointment by refusing to answer the phone you are lucky they didn't cancel you're claim.

Does it sound like they may have done a paper based assessment or do you think there’s a chance it will be rejected even though they said the report has been sent out to me

Hard to say what has gone on precisely here... but it is possible they have done a paper based assessment and if so that tends to be good news. All you can do is wait for that report.. if they sent it 15th then perhaps in the next day or two you could expect it. That might reveal all and indicate what decision is likely to follow. I know you'll be anxious but perhaps set Thursday as a day to chase this up if nothing received by then in the post.

Quick update 
the case manager has just phoned me back to ask the reason for not answering the phone to assessor & asked a few questions & said I will receive a new date for the assessment, so not sure why the pip advisor told me a report has been sent out

Yeah sadly you can speak to advisors and they don't always give correct information even when looking at their system. I would assume they were referring to something else like evidence you've supplied (not long ago I asked for them to send the PIP report and they sent the old one that I sent them.. there was no new report as the agent on the phone seemed to have thought).

I suppose just wait for the data of assessment and prepare yourself for it..
