I understand all the words but ...

    It's encoded in Scottish !!

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

    Pardon?

Are you saying you bought a digital copy of a film but it turned out to be an empty file?

Assuming I'm reading this right, you purchased a movie online. The seller has provided you with a download code which is a black picture? Or did they provide you with a file saying it was the actual movie? Either way it sounds dodgy.

Personally I'd contact your bank and ask for a new card to be issued (with a new card number). I'd also ask them to make sure they don't process further transactions from that company again. You probably also need to do some digital hygiene checks - delete the file, look to check your device for any malware, and then once you're satisfied your device is clean, change passwords for all your accounts, especially any you've accessed on that device since downloading the file.
