Is it worth having insurance for a UK coach holiday. Just wondering what would happen if you got ill and couldn't travel back with the coach, how would you get home

By another means of public transport? What sort of journey do you think might break the bank?0

A very quick search shows that Post Office will provide insurance for UK holidays. I haven't looked at the T&C. You may also be able to get cover associated with your bank account.

The larger potential costs are ongoing accommodation and living/incidental costs incurred by extending your stay away from home if a member of your party falls ill, and return travel costs if unable to use the booked coach seat.
If you're going from Manchester to Blackpool you might able to swallow the potential costs. If you're going from Kent to the Hebrides (or vice versa) then maybe not.0
