Travel Insurance - Pre-existing question

Options
Hi, just sorting out our yearly travel insurance.
My wife had a benign Phyllodes tumour removed last year.
Because of this she needs to have a check up once a year to see if it comes back.

The insurance is asking this question when we declare this - Are you having continuing investigation or treatment for this and/or is any planned?

Is the yearly checkup classed as continuing investigation? I feel the answer is yes but feel you could interpret either way.

You answer yes as it's ongoing treatment and/or investigation

Thanks very much, I was 99% sure that was the case. Every policy I have checked so far indicates they won't cover this condition.

There are a couple of insurance companies that cover most medical conditions but it will mean paying more

Have you checked to see if you can get travel cover through your bank?  I had to declare my hip replacement but the total cost was only around £60.  Most of the specialist insurers wanted several hundred quid.

Is that just an indication from a price comparison site or have you actually spoken to the companies?  Annual check up may or may not be classed as continuing investigation.  We have annual health checks at our GP surgery so I don't see what your wife is having as being much different to that.

You are better  to phone and ask them about routine check ups.
