Quick question re Tracked 48

Options
I'm doing a "not as described" return to ebay.
The sellers response was dismissive, so I've started a return.
The item title, title picture and item description are not what I received.
I've downloaded and printed the Tracked 48 label.
Can I just post the small padded envelope straight into a post box?
Will that be good enough for proof of posting?
Move along, nothing to see.

proof of posting requires a physical proof, so either a receipt of acceptance from the PO or if it is collected, an email acknowledging collecting.

However, Tracked48 should scan on arrival at a mail or sorting centre which is enough for eBay purposes on a return. You would only need a POP if it never gets scanned and that is unlikely.

Bearing in mind that it already has a label, is there any additional charge for POP from a Post office counter?

No extra costs at all, it can even be collected for free by booking a collection here (choose the option for you already have bought postage)

    Thanks for all the info.
I pass a good local PO every day.
It's only £5 but I've got a bad feeling about this business seller.
I'd like to be absolutely sure the seller has no wriggle room.

There's nothing to pay for a collection receipt, but isn't there an extra fee, 29p I think, if Tracked 24 or 48 is dropped off at a PO?  This gets charged to the payment method used to book the label so won't be the OP's problem in any case.

EBay labels don’t trigger the charge, and in fact I’ve never been charged even when I’ve bought from RM online.

With RM online I had a Tracked 24 parcel recently which was down for collection the following morning.  I then found I had to go out so would have missed the collection.  The parcel was scanned at a PO and instantly I received an email saying the extra payment had been taken.  You would hardly think it was worth the trouble ...

I dropped it off at my friendly local PO this evening.
It was check weighed, scanned and I was given a POP and told (in a friendly way) not to lose it as no record of POP is kept on the PO system!
