🎁 Your chance to win big with the ultimate Stationery Takeaway! Win a mega bundle of over £166 of notebooks, planners & stationery accessories by following @ohhdeer & @natstatweek, liking this post, tagging a friend, and answering this tough question:

Where does the word 'Stationery' originate from? 📚

A. From the English word 'Station' relating to Train Stations in the early 1800's, it was a common place for people to purchase journals and notebooks to document their journey's.

B. From Egyptian Mythology, 'Stationary Islands' believed to be a centre of learning & writing and the source of Papyrus.

C. From Medieval Europe, scribes worked in scriptoriums often referred to as 'stationaria' or 'stations' derived from the Latin word 'stationarius' meaning a stationary position or place. The term was later used to encompass the materials used by so called 'Stationaria', with 'Stationaria' or 'Stationers' beginning to refer to people who sold these supplies from a fixed point of sale.

D. From 'Statistician's' tools, the first paper and pens being crafted to record data, the term 'Stationery' coming from a 'Statistician's Station'.
