Hey all
Is this suitable to be outside of a property. I've seen people try to secure their bikes to prevent them being stolen, unless it's a bike pole or stand. Is it something that can be either covered up or removed? And is it cheap to do?

It's fairly common for gas pipes to run up the exterior of a building. Newer apartment blocks have them on the outside all the way up to the top floor, because it is safer as there is less chance of a leak occurring inside the building.
You don't want to entirely cover the example you've shown because there is an isolation valve in the elbow at the top, that needs to be accessible for emergencies.0 -
Is this the outside of your property?
It's quite standard - removing it would disconnect your supply - box it in with wood if you wish
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
If it is your property get someone to fit a capping steel upto level of elbow.
If the passage is used for trundling motorbikes or bin's up and down that will give a bit extra protection.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0 -
It's my property, I'm not living in it at the moment and I saw someone trying to secure their bike onto it. The bike is for the gas meter.
Thanks for the comments, it's reassured my mind a bit. It's my first property and I'm learning a lot haha.0
