Hi everyone,

I have received a claim form dated 03/05/24 for 2 parking charges which I don't know about at all ! I did not receive  anything and I did not parked anywhere  restricted.
Please I will appreciate your assistance how am I supposed to defence because I do not know what these charges are for?

Many thanks

Redact the claim form, including the name and address, VRM details and password on the right too, leaving the dates showing, and post a picture here, no personal information but show everything else

Does the Claim Form have your name and address on it?
If so, you will need to defend yourself against the claim being made against you.

    Who is the Claimant?

Can you please show us the content of the Particulars of Claim box on the claim form - taking care to mask your personal information.

yes, it has my name and address. the claimant is a private company, recently  I have won a case against them. another is ongoing  at the court stage. this is the third one but I don't know how these charges have occurred as I did not receive any correspondence about it.

So its PCM UK LTD, via Gladstone's solicitors, issue date 3rd may, for 2 PCNs , almost £466 in total, so an inflated claim as usual

Those Particulars leave a lot to be desired.

Or to put it another way...

You need to be aware that those Particulars of Claim are totally inadequate.

Nowhere in those Particulars is there any explanation of what the driver is alleged to have done wrong.

This will be an easy win.

in this case since I do not know how these charges have occurred  how am I supposed layout a defence, any idea?

If I only state that "I did not receive any PCNs in relation to this claim" would that be sufficient ?

With a Claim Issue Date of 3rd May, you have until Wednesday 22nd May to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 5th June 2024 to file your Defence.
That's over two weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.
