British Gas Team GB & ParalympicsGB Promotion on the Heart Network, May 2024 – Specific Rules 

1.    ‘The British Gas in partnership with Team GB & ParalympicsGB promotion’ (‘Promotion’) is organised by Global (as defined in the General Terms and Conditions). The Promotion will run from Friday 17th  May 2024 to Wednesday 29th May 2024 on the Heart Network. Global is the Promoter. The ‘Promotion Partner’ mentioned in these Specific Rules is British Gas. The Prize Provider is Fuse, Sports and Entertainment Marketing Agency. 

2.    IMPORTANT: The Promotion is subject to these Specific Rules and the General Terms and Conditions which are available here  (together, the ‘Promotion Terms and Conditions’). Entry into the Promotion constitutes acceptance of these Specific Rules and the General Terms and Conditions. 

Details of the Promotion: 

3.    To enter the Promotion, you must go online to the Promotion entry page at www.heart.co.uk/win, register your details and nominate a state primary school telling us in 300 characters or less why you think this school should be chosen to receive a supercharged sports day  (your ‘Submission’).  

4.    50 randomly selected eligible Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges, including one independent judge, according to the following criteria: 

a.   The Submission has a ‘feel good’ factor, is original and demonstrates a positive attitude towards sport. 

5.    Online entry will open at 17:00 on Friday 17th May 2024 and close at 23:59 on Wednesday 29th May 2024. Submissions received before or after this time will not be included in the Promotion. 

6.    Any Submissions deemed by us to be rude, offensive, defamatory, illegal or condoning dangerous behaviour will be removed from the Promotion. 

7.    Your nominated school must be a state primary school for children aged 5-11 based in England, Scotland or Wales and entrants must have sought official permission from the school agreeing for it to be entered into the Promotion prior to entry.  

8.    Your nominated school must have a sports day scheduled to run between 19th June and 31st July 2024. 

9.    Within 24 hours of the closing time of the Promotion, from all valid Submissions received, a shortlist of 50 Submissions will be randomly selected. These 50 Submissions will be judged by the panel against the stated criteria, and three winning primary schools will be selected.  

10. We will contact each of these three winning schools to inform them of their win. Each winning school will be contacted within 48 hours of being chosen. The winning primary schools will be asked to agree for their details to be passed onto our Prize Provider who will organise the delivery of the prize. At this stage, the school will be able to opt out of the Promotion if they no longer wish to participate. In this case, they will forfeit their nomination and another entry will be chosen as a winner per the judging process. The winning school must respond and accept their prize within 48 hours of being contacted by the Promoter, or their prize will be deemed forfeited and an alternative winner will be selected in accordance with these terms. 

11.    In the event that any of the randomly selected primary schools are not located in England, Scotland or Wales or are not state primary schools, that school will be excluded from the Promotion and another one will be selected as per the judging process outlined above.  

12. We and the Promotion Partner may publish and publicise your name, image, social media handle and/or profile picture, your nearest geographical location (for example, your nearest city, town or county) and your entry, and we may refer to your and any applicable third party’s (for example a guest/travel companion) association with the Promotion and/or the prize, in any and all media, worldwide, in perpetuity, for publicity and PR purposes solely in connection with the Promotion. 

13. In relation to winners, you understand that we and our Promotion Partner may: (i) interview you and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) which we may film, photograph and/or record and; (ii) film, photograph and/or record, you in connection with the Promotion, either by telephone or in person, and we may use such films, recordings and/or photographs for publicity and PR purposes in any and all media, worldwide, as often and for as long as we consider appropriate or desirable, in connection with the Promotion.  

14. As part of the prize (per clause 20 (h)), a production team from the Prize Provider may attend the winning school’s sports days and film content. Fliming permissions will be sought from the parents, head teacher and safe guarding officer as applicable at each school prior to any filming taking place. The filmed content may be published on social media channels operated by us and the Promotion Partner,  and/or Team GB /ParalympicsGB and athlete social channels  if agreement is received by parents/guardians and the primary schools. 

Eligibility: 

15. Entrants nominating a primary school must be aged 18 or over and based in the UK at the time of entry. 

16. Nominated schools must be a state primary school and based in England, Scotland or Wales. This includes community, foundation, academies and free primary schools for children aged 5-11.  

17. Teachers can nominate a primary school that they work at.  

18. The nominated school must already have their sports day arranged to take place between 19th June and 31st July 2024.  

19. Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be excluded from the Promotion.  

Prize: 

20. The three winning primary schools will each receive prizes for their sports day up to the value of £30,000. The exact items to be delivered will be decided between the school and the Promotion Partner:  

a.   Kit out pupils with Team GB and ParalympicsGB merchandise  

b.   A Team GB or ParalympicsGB athlete & Heart Presenter or Friend of the station to attend the sports days 

c.    A Team GB/ParalympicsGB winner’s podium 

d.   Sustainable medals for all students taking part in the sports days 

e.    Food and beverage offering to be agreed with the individual schools 

f.      Sports equipment given to each school which will be agreed with the individual schools 

g.    Entertainment (to be agreed with each individual school e.g. music, face painting, balloons) 

h.    Production team that will capture the day to create a short wrap up film. For full details, refer to clause 14.  

21. Neither the Promoter nor the Promotion Partner will organise the winning schools’ sports days; this prize is to supercharge the school’s already scheduled sports day. 

22. If any of the winning primary schools’ sports days are cancelled or delayed for any reason i.e. poor weather, the Promotion Partner will arrange to supply the kit and an assembly appearance by a Team GB or ParalympicsGB  athlete and will endeavour to cover a re-scheduled sports day subject to availability for the rearranged date. 

23. You acknowledge and agree that, without limitation to the provisions of Clause 12 of the General Terms & Conditions, our and our Promotion Partner’s ability to fulfil a prize and/or perform any of our respective obligations under the Promotion Terms and Conditions could be affected by an actual or threatened epidemic, pandemic, disease or quarantine and/or any corresponding governmental action, guidance and/or ruling (including but not limited to any Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office guidance) (collectively ‘Covid Measures’).   

24. If due to any Covid Measures or due to any other reason outside of our or our Promotion Partner’s reasonable control, we are unable to fulfil a prize or perform any of our other obligations under the Promotion Terms and Conditions, then neither we nor our Promotion Partner shall be in breach of the Promotion Terms and Conditions. In accordance with Clause 27 below, in these circumstances, we reserve the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value at our absolute discretion. 

25. Any other costs and expenses which are not specifically included in the prize description are excluded and will be the sole responsibility of the winner. By way of example, without limitation, hosting the school’s sports day is not included within the prize. 

26. The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available except at our sole discretion. 

27. We reserve the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value at our absolute discretion.

Data Protection: 

29. Your personal data that you provide to us will be collected and processed by us, our licensees (including Communicorp UK Limited) and our Promotion Partners as well as the prize providers, and if applicable, our service providers, network operators and suppliers in order to administer and fulfil the Promotion. Your personal data may also be disclosed to the Phone-paid Services Authority, Ofcom and/or the Advertising Standards Authority at their reasonable request for regulatory purposes, for example, in order to prevent, investigate and detect crime, fraud or anti-social behaviour and comply with law enforcement agencies and applicable advertising codes. 

30. By entering a Promotion, you acknowledge that any personal data provided by you in connection with the Promotion will be processed as set out above and in accordance with our Privacy Policy which sets out full details of how we process personal data and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject, our  Promotion Partners’ Privacy Policy and our Prize Provider’s Privacy Policy. Please ensure you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and our Promotion Partner’s Privacy Policy before entering any Promotion. If you are required to submit a guest(s)/travel companion(s) personal data to enter a Promotion, you must ensure that your guest(s)/travel companion(s) have given you consent to provide us and our Promotion Partner with their personal data. 

31. You may be asked if you want to opt-in to marketing from us and/or our Promotion Partners when you enter a Promotion. If you choose to opt-in, we and/or our Promotion Partner will use your personal data for marketing purposes (see Global's  Privacy Policy our Promotion Partner’s Privacy Policy and our Prize Provider’s  Privacy Policy for more details). You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time by unsubscribing.  

32. We and our Promotion Partners may transfer and process personal data outside of the EEA and UK for the purposes of administering the Promotion. Where any transfers are made outside of the EEA or UK we and the Promotion Partners will ensure appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data are in place.  

33. We will hold your personal data for a period of up to 3 years in order to comply with our regulatory obligations.  

34. You may request the removal of your personal details from our database by contacting privacy@global.com. If you request that your personal details be removed prior to the conclusion of a Promotion, you will forfeit your right to enter the Promotion and/or claim any prize and we reserve the right to select another entrant to participate in the Promotion or withdraw the prize and select another winner, as applicable.
