Thunderbird gmail issue

I checked my pop.gmail using Thunderbird early this morning, all good - then later in the morning it wanted me to log into gmail.
I was a little confused as I have 2 gmail accounts.
Anyway, I logged into the one and everything worked fine after that.
Apart from the 2nd account which just gives an error message
<<The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [AUTH] Invalid credentials.>>
I've googled away and checked setting many times but alas, to no avail.
Can anyone help?

Looks like you've go the wrong password for one of the accounts. Try accessing via the webmail0

Pretty sure with gmail, you have to authorise Thunderbird with an app specific password.0

Hey,
I've been getting the same STAT command error for a few days. I've had it a couple of times before but it went away with a Thunderbird update..not this time :-(
I looked at the like you posted but I still can't get it to work. . What setting did you specifically change if you don't mind saying.
Thanks0 -

I just followed the google link at the end of my previous post, which gave me a numerical (IIRC?) password to put into TB instead of my 'real' password
