With those earnings they will not be affected by the benefits cap. https://www.gov.uk/benefit-cap/when-youre-not-affectedWelshPaul said:
You might get hit with a benefit cap deduction of -£95.93p reducing your payment to £451.00. I’m not sure though, you could be better off on UC if the benefit cap doesn’t apply for you!0 -
Also just to point out, the free school meals will remain until your child leaves the current stage of education (primary/ secondary/ sixth form) unless she changes schools. It's not that well known but if they're entitled on day 1 of (for example) year 7 it stays with them until the end of year 11.1

Seems then that I need to be patient but hard when you wait 4 weeks and then see payment £0! It's quite stressful.
Thanks to all for replying. I have no clue on all this.0 -
Did you put a message onto your journal?SunflowerSmile said:Seems then that I need to be patient but hard when you wait 4 weeks and then see payment £0! It's quite stressful.

Does your statement breakdown mention a 'Transitional Element' or not?Apparently there are often delays currently in calcuating Transional Protection until after the first statement has been issued - in which case it doesn't appear on the first statement at all.
If a TP has been calculated as being zero then it should appear on the first statement as: "Transitional Element - £0". So, if there is no mention at all of a Transitional Element on the statement, then it means that they haven’t calculated it yet.Children not being included on a new claim statement, because they haven't been 'verified' in time, is also currently a common occurrence, so as said above no Work Allowance gets included in the statement either and the 55p/£ deduction for earnings is too high.
That one usually gets corrected pretty quickly and the child element included when you shout on the journal..
