It's very bright here, it bodes well for a grand day, yesterday was so lovely, long may it last. After the pool I did some shopping. Loaded up with fruit, nuts and veggies. And a cream slice! I do like a cream slice now and then. Pottering in the garden took up some time as I meandered around the postage stamp sized space. Whilst I don't enjoy gardening it's good to sit out in when all is blooming.Later on today one of my nephews is coming up to stay overnight. He has a branch of his business in Glasgow so it's two birds with one stone, and I'm happy with it. Think I'll put a washing load in, just to take advantage of the weather. I'm sure others are doing the same.Take care everyone, hugs to our poorlies.8

Hi everyone
SO - just take things one small step at a time
Gers - enjoy your cream slice
Ruby - hope you’re feeling better - I agree the loss of smell and taste is awful. I’m at 8 weeks (just cold virus related, not Covid). I thought maybe I could smell a few things yesterday but I think my mind is starting to play tricks on me.A very tiring day yesterday with exams - 8 + hours with barely a break. Dashed home then took Barney-dog to the vet - he’s on anti inflammatories and rest for 7 days - the biggest issue will be stopping him jumping on (or off really) chairs and beds. Yes I know, my own fault for letting him in the first place but he’s too much of a cutey and loves a snuggle!Today - no plans though that doesn’t mean there isn’t loads to do! Currently quite foggy which was unexpected. It’ll be craft work and maybe a pop in to the local arboretum to see if they stock crafts and maybe might have some of mine in their shop - it’s only 2 miles away.Happy Friday all

@SO - inertia is really difficult to overcome, perhaps do one thing for five minutes and build up. Overcoming grief is another matter, it seems to linger way past it being good. Sometimes I sink deep into it and then have to work hard to climb out. You're not alone.@Allie - eight hours is horrible! How did you survive it?@Florence - well done on getting MrF to the nurse, now for the doc.8

Morning! It's sunny after the thunderstorm last night, everything is watered. I tried out my new most powerful in the world torch and saw tens of snails and slugs, which didn't make me happy, so I switched it off again
I bought orange paint for the inner porch woodwork which will match the actual front door, a level and some geraniums, obviously. We're having fibre installed at the end of the month so hopefully I can remove the telephone wire since the landlines will be useless then. Not that I use it, but I do have to record some messages I accidentally recorded of me talking to my parents on the weekly calls I used to make. It does make me sad to listen to them but I'd rather have them than not. Today is gardening and porch clearing in readiness to remove the trims and panes of glass. They will be replaced but with either plain and coloured film, or plain coloured, whichever I can swing...The new porch makes a massive difference in temperature, we don't really need the inner door anymore, which was the original outer door.
SO, it just takes time, and I can match you for procrastinating, I've been on about doing the porch prperly for six yearsprioritise the jobs you want done, and do the easiest ones that make the biggest impact first. or not
Izzy, enjoy the day! Get nuclear on their behinds about the buss pass! Gers, how lovely your nephews is visiting, warm fuzzies to you. Allie, sounds horrendous, the eight hours that is, and good luck, they can only say no [ or yes!] Flo, hope they can get to the bottom of what's wrong. Nanny, deep breaths and fortitude for monday. Take care all, enjoy the sun if you have it..shout out to the missing....

Morning all, it's a dull start here. Dog walked early, the usual well worked routine with next door. I go out 1st, he hears the front door so waits for me to cross the road and get to the trees, then he comes out with his Jack Russell who barks like mad if he sees us, we wave and he goes the opposite way
. Only prob today was another dog going down the road so he dashed back into his garden until they'd gone too
I've been researching a tv recording box since we got rid of V. The streaming works fine but I miss being able to record so I can whizz through adverts when I watch my soaps :0 . Seems newer versions are in short supply, will keep looking.I gave myself a pamper last night- DH went out with a couple of friends. Got out the ancient foot spa for a pedicure, and then did my nail varnish on hands and feet. Summer readyI put all my jumpers away too.
Nothing planned for today really, usual school pickup, and usual freezer rummage. Yesterday we had beef stroganoff from the butchers pack that's been in the freezer too long. It's DSs favourite but he's still on soft foods after having teeth out, and as he was out it was a good opportunity to use it. He has another trip to the dentist today for denture consultation, hopefully soon he can have a wider variety, he's getting really fed up with soup, pasta etc.Right better get something done, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. OH shingles are getting better they seem to have dried up now and are scabbing over they are still painful when he puts any pressure on them but I think they are on the way out.
