Land Registry - Amendment to Address on Title Deed

Hi All

We're in the final stages of purchasing our next home, however our conveyancer has picked up a variation in the address registered with HM Land Registry. On the freehold Title Register it shows as the area (well what the area would have been known as many years ago) rather than the town, all other info (number, street and postcode) are correct. It seems a bit daft that we're now held up because of this but the lender apparently wants everything to match exactly. Does anyone know how long it's likely to take for the Land Registry to update it? We're desperate to get moving now as we've already been held up by the vendors solicitors.
Thanks in advance :)

Your lender is being pedantic. Provided the property can be unambiguously identified (number and postcode) there really is no problem.
However if your lender insists on a change to the LR, then the seller's solicitor can 'expedite' the application as it is delaying a sale.

I strongly suspect the lender doesn't really care, they're being "advised" to care by the pedantic conveyancer...
