Help to buy Scotland-Home improvements

We bought our house 7 years ago with help to buy (Scotland). We're now wanting to do some home improvements, just converting the garage but looking at the website it seems we aren't able to do this without having paid the help to buy back, Has anyone done a garage conversion or any major home improvements without paying this back?

I’m not sure on the answer to your question however when I had a query re my help to buy situation, I emailed HousingMarkets@gov.scot with my question and got a very helpful reply.
