FITS Payments - Why not monthly

Surely there is no excuse for Electricity companies to hang on to our money for a year before coughing up.

With every thing, digital and automatic there is no excuse not to be paid monthly surely?

With most older FIT solar arrays the generation meter has to be manually read, so no automation there.

New solar arrays, on the SEG system, with a smart meter can be paid/credited monthly.

You could keep your FIT as it is but get a smart meter fitted and change the deemed export to SEG.

I get my FiT payments quarterly and SEG payments monthly.

Which electricity company are you with that pays you annually?

My FITs are quarterly too with British Gas, never heard of them being annual so maybe switch to a different company?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • Much the same story here. My FIT payments are received quarterly from EDF - I get a reminder to submit a reading from my generation meter (which is not smart) when they are due and the payment normally hits my bank account 3 to 5 days after that. My export payments are from Octopus and are applied to my account monthly automatically, with the readings coming from my smart meter. So no complaints from me at all ( so far  )
