Check with supplier before switching

If you go to a price comparison site with a view to switching your gas/electricity supplier, it may be worth a call to your current supplier first. I phoned E.ON today and asked them exactly what tariff I was on because there were 9 different options on the uswitch.com website for online dual fuel. I was immediately offered a further 7% discount which saves me £107 per year! I checked this with uswitch and my new tariff is only £25 per year more than the cheapest so I won't be switching. It's annoying that I wasn't offered this rate without the phone call but at least I don't have the hassle of having to switch. This all came about while I was taking up Martin's suggestion of a Money Makeover - well worth doing. My wife and myself will also be taking up new bank accounts with A&L. Thank you Martin!
