Have you paid it? How much and when?  I missed that in your OP.

Having been told on page 1 that the thread by Zbubuman about his CCJ set aside case is the current exemplar (up to date case law) I assume you've now read his thread?

Just to Clarify, we dont  know when the CCJ was  judged or awarded to the parking firm, as we only have one letter from the debt collectors stating the court case reference number.

The letter from the debt collectors was dated 1st November 2023, but as my son hadnt been back to his moms for a few months (as he spends most of his time at his girlfriends) he didnt get to see the letter until 29th November. My son paid it the same day, and we called the debt collectors to discuss this on the same day.

To be honest hes not fussed about contending the parking fine, thats too late now, (and he feels it was probably correct) or the fees involved, all he wants to do is get the CCJ set aside. We started trying to contact CCBC back in January

It was in a later reply, quoted above

Of course this is credit cleansing. He may have admitted liability and paid the charge but it is no his fault he is in the position that he is now with a "dirty" credit recored. By not serving the claim, he is where he is and has every right to have this injustice corrected.

I agree that it would be cheaper and easier if he can get a set aside with consent. However, breath holding is not advised when dealing with the bottom feeders of this scam industry.

Oh dear. Paying it was a huge mistake:
The letter from the debt collectors was dated 1st November 2023, but as my son hadnt been back to his moms for a few months (as he spends most of his time at his girlfriends) he didnt get to see the letter until 29th November. My son paid it the same day, and we called the debt collectors to discuss this on the same day.
By paying, he has lost all his leverage to ask them to consent to set the CCJ aside.

And if he tries a N244 without consent that costs him £303 now and he is six months late to apply which might annoy a Judge and might see a 'without consent' application - see the CCJ thread by @Zbubuman - refused.

That will now put him £600 down and maybe not even getting the CCJ set aside.  He'd have paid far less, or almost certainly nothing at all, had he come here in November and put in a N244 application then (no paying it).  He'd have got the CCJ set aside by now and his fee refunded (probably) by the Claimants, by order of a Judge.  That's what we do here, daily.
