How to extract JPG from EML

I have a 1.06Mb "EML" Outlook message file - that contains 2 JPG images - that I need to extract - how is this possible and how is it achieved ?
I reckon that they originated in an apple device

If you open the email then you can just right click on the image and "save as".

No I can't - it appears to be embedded in the file

Doesn't matter - I have asked the sender to send the images as straight forward JPG files - but I am still trying to work out exactly what I received in the first place - the whole file was 1.06Mb (with an EML attachment, that when opened, contained 2 * Hi resolution images) - you try to work that out ...

    Compression?

Also define high definition, two 0.5Mb files with a small header making up the balance.

A .eml file is a raw email in a file, it can contain anything an email can contain - including other emails.

It's rare for attachments to be that efficiently encoded, normally they are base64 encoded into ASCII characters, with a 37% overhead. I'm guessing that it wasn't sent as an email itself and was just an encoded attachment in another email - it's an odd thing to do.
