Morning all and thanks for the start @Chrisca50 x
Glad things went well yesterday @Gers. I’m jealous of your trip home via Penrith today – loved Penrith when we stayed there on our JoGLE hike.
DH has hurt his back getting up from the sofa, so is even mopier! Hopefully a trip to the cinema tonight for The Fall Guy will help his mood. Dad doing okay thanks @-taff. He had a colonoscopy yesterday and they found he has diverticulitis so more diet adjustments. He is coming over in June for DS1s wedding which will be lovely.
My 6 month probation is up at work soon. Wonder if I’ll get a certificate or balloon release to mark the occasion lol?!
Enjoy the quiet while you can @TravellingAbuela!

@-taff You make some good points about retiring. I feel a bit like that sometimes, guilty at sitting doing nothing but it doesn't last long! I've already earmarked Mens Sheds for DH when he decides to retire. I had a good clearout of my wardrobe yesterday. Tired work clothes binned and others are earmarked for the charity shop.My memory is getting worse. Forgot to say Gers I hope the funeral went well and you coped with your hip. Glad you did. DP I hope you DGD copes well at the dentist. Off to the garden for me now, the sun keeps making an appearance10

Morning everyone thanks for everyone’s advice about retirement I just think I’m struggling because I’m used to been so busy and it doesn’t help that the hubby won’t go anywhere he’s content to sit here all day but if I go out by myself he always has something that I’ve got to be back for I have put my foot down with him today because we are members of a forest and I said we would go today when I got in from my cleaning job we never went last year I don’t know what we are paying for fair enough he had a new knee last year and couldn’t walk far but he’s now decided we will just have a walk round the park with the dog as she’s been out once and it might rain so I have told him in no uncertain terms we are going he can put his hood up he better not walk around with a face like a smacked backside or that’s not the only thing that will be getting smacked . I’ve got a little gammon joint in the slow cooker for tonight we will have that with new potatoes and salad that’s nice and easy . GERS I’m pleased your hip isn’t giving you to much trouble take it easy and a safe journey home . TAFF if you hear I’ve been working in the garden all day you will know where the body is and I will be planting endangered species so they can’t be dug up . DP1 I hope the little one is alright she’s had so much to put up with. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13

Hello all, I've been feeling quite rough for a few days and haven't slept much so I didn't want to come on here and moan more than usual. It does me no good and probably you're all fed up with me.
We went out shopping yesterday for a new kitchen tap for the 'van as every time you turned it on last holiday you got a free face wash ! I bought a few more things including a suitcase with wheels ready for our hotel holiday and this afternoon we we'll have a dummy run at filling it, I'm still not sure it's big enough for the 2 of us. We normally just take things on hangers over to the van so haven't used a suitcase for about 40 years. We stopped at a fish and chip restaurant on the way home and thoroughly enjoyed it but it was really too much for me. Back to our own cooking today and we'll use up the last of the Sunday pork and have sweet and sour pork strips with rice. Tomorrow we're over the van to fit to fit the tap🤞. I'll take some sandwiches and a flask in case it takes longer than we think.
Hugs to the poorly ones and family members, the fally down ones and dp1's DGD. Izzy it will take a time to get used to retirement, then you'll be wondering how you had time to go to work !
Take care all.
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
Afternoon all.
I got up an hour later than planned but got jobs done before going to SA. I emptied and cleaned the porch + took a lot of bags to SA for Friday's food bank.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
