Morning all
Boring old housework today and a bit of gardening as the rain has gone and looks like the rest of the week could stay dry.
Hope everyone one is well and have a good day all x

Morning All
Dank and overcast this morning but quite warm. I have washing in the machine but might just hang it inside, may hang it out later.
Nice catch up with a friend yesterday and a lovely meal although I was very naughty and had a desert - lovely it was too!
Pleased to hear you're on the mend Ruby, hope you didn't do too much yesterday.
Hope the funeral went as well as these things do Gers.
Poor little one dp1, hope she's pain free today.
Good to hear from you Coxy, sorry to hear your OH hasn't heard anything yet.
What a great thing to do Rosy, little ones need financial help from a very early age.
We've still not heard anything about the job situation, the Council's week to 10 days is obviously different to mine!
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Chrisca.
Thanks for the good wishes for my test yesterday - just waiting for results now.
Sorry your dg d has had dental problems Dp1, so painful for her.
Ruby, you sound pretty good, don't overdo it though.
Izzy, when I first retired I kept thinking I was on holiday, I gradually got used to it though, and you will too. I meet up with friends, and enjoy crafting and sewing, and general pottering, I'm a big potterer. It is strange at first though.
Hope you're enjoying your holiday TA.
If you're coming home today Gers have a safe journey.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.13 -
Thanks Chrisca for the start
Camelot - Hope you get news soon, waiting is horrid.Izzy - perhaps start planning for some winter activities so that you can gently transition to them now in readiness.
Wednesday already - how did that happen?
Yesterday felt like a slog, maybe cos I’d been awake since 5am and I finished up leaving work earlier than planned - fortunately I could be flexible and I’ll catch up today! Then I finished up working on my craft stuff until nearly 9pm. Shan’t be doing that tonight as I have to be in work at 730am tomorrow and it’ll be a busy day,
Trying to keep on top of everything at home as well and it seems like the more ‘chores’ I do the more I see that need doing; anyway just me venting!Hope everyone has a good day

Morning from an overcast Darlington. The service at Kirkleatham crem went well. It's a rather small but lovely crem. The gathering afterwards had a very tasty buffet too, the caterers had home made everything from the sausage rolls to pork pies and cream scones. Catching up with old kent faces was good and meeting the extended family of my late friend was particularly wonderful.I'm off back home soon. It'll be about five to six hours and I'll be driving carefully. My plan is to detour slightly into. Cranstons farm shop at Penrith for a couple of things, or more if I'm tempted too much. 😀
My bruised left hip is mending. I could sleep on it last night after a dose of paracetamol. I'm yet to look for the colouring.
@DP1 - I hope your little one is feeling better today after her dental appointment.@Ruby - glad to hear you're back on your feet again.Hugs to all. Thanks for the many good wishes.13 -
Morning all
It looks to be a lovely day here wall to wall sunshine atm, we had a good day yesterday the guys wanted to go bowling and have a walk around the shops which we did and it was nice and not too taxing.
Today I am off to collect Rob and take him to his work hopefully we will be working outside as it’s such a nice day, we need to pop in the shops on the way back to get a few things.
Dinner tonight is yet to be decided will see what we fancy later, I have put a wash on which OH will hang on the line later.
OH is no better but no worse it seems starting the tablets early has helped they seem to have stopped the rash getting any worse, the worst thing for his is not being able to sit against something like the sofa it hurts too much to put any pressure on it.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning! Sun is shining now after the haze has burnt off. Big fluffy white clouds are whizzing past at the moment. Went to bed last night, heard a commotion outside, saw two foxes fighting over a fox kit they'd caught somewhere, probably from the back of our neighbours because I saw three of them playing in the sand at the back of our garden yesterday at dusk. I suppose I know now what happened to the one I found. Got an eye screen today this afternoon which means I have all day to prepare for it and get my harris in gear. Will be doing some garden potter and I might make a start on the windowsills, just lifting one or two off to see where the draught is and fix that first. It's just too easy to do nothing but garden in this weather. To be honest, it's just too easy to procrastinate too. What do we want?! An end to procrastination!! When do we want it? Maybe tomorrow?Izzy, when I stopped working and got a bit better I used to feel really guilty about sitting down and doing what I would call nothing. I felt as if I had to do things to validate not working otherwise I would be wasting time and not being productive. [I've gone totally the other way now though
] Maybe examine the hobbies you have, and impose regime on yourself while you get used to enjoying more life, have a timetable maybe, and don't forget, you are not stuck in your house at all, you can go anywhere now, do anything, have a day out in the middle of the week, take a bus trip, go to a museum, go to the cinema, go for a walk, take a picnic, whatever you like. Think champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget as the thread used to say
Maybe, if you're feeling sociable, see what clubs there are you can join for free, maybe there's a gardening one or a walking group, or a U3A or something, throw your husband into a Mens Shed one
Ruby, glad you're better! Coxy, I hope your husband finds something he likes soon. How's your dad doing? Gers, glad your hip is less painful even if it is pk's doing it, little by little etc...safe drive back! DP1, poor little thing, fingers crossed they are removed sharpish. Rosy, I bet Martin Lewis would be glad ot hear they're being taught that. Life skills should be taught I think, as well as how much things cost. Florence, hope you're having a bit more rest! you don't have to do everything you know. SO, you sound a bit chirpier, hope the sun is shining where you are. Allie, hope today is less fraught, and not all chores must be done, forget about the ones that can wait for a bitChris, how did the clothes sort go? And have a good day all if you can!

Morning, thanks Chrisca. The rain has come back here.dp1 hope little ones mouth is feeling better now.Glad the day went well Gers, the buffet sounded lovely too.Camelot, it's not often I have a dessert but enjoy it when I do go out. Hope you hear about your job soon.RR glad you are feeling a bit better.I bumped into 1 of my cousins at the retail park yesterday. She missed our last meet up due to covid, she was off work for 7 weeks & still feeling the effects sometimes. Hope DH feels better, sounds so sore.AA, your craft work sounds intriguing, what kind of things do you make?Last nights tea was beef stew taken from the freezer, will take something out in a mo for later. I really wanted to order one of the meat packs our butcher posted, but realised I'd have no space in the freezers until I move some stuff out.Apparently DGD has a friendly football match tonight, I thought her team had finished their season. No doubt DGS will regale us later with how the debt talk went yesterday, it'll be interesting to know what was taught.I hope you all have a good day whatever you're upto x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Lovely and sunny again, hopefully it will last so I can do some more garden tidying later. This morning I'm going to Newcastle to see the man who made my last dentures, I want a new set made. I wish I could afford the ones that secure in your gums with little posts, like implants, but I can't.
I'll just be in Newcastle for a couple of hours, as I booked the cheapest trains I could get. There will be time for a look in the charity shops on the way up from the station, they are always a lot cheaper than ours and I'll get a sandwich or something from Greggs and sit in the sun with it.
Right better get moving. Hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Hi everyone,
When I retired I spent a lot of my time on my quilting. Now I have hardly any time for that, I think I was less busy when I was working full time.
Ruby, I'm glad you're better but ouch poor OH, I hope he feels better soon.
Dp1 I didn't know that about premature babies, I wonder why. Hope the fillings go smoothly.
I want to have a wardrobe sort today and will do some sewing as well. Spaghetti Milanese for dinner tonight.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning folks. Greetings from my happy place. Gorgeous weather till yesterday when it rained most of the day. Today just gloomy. Am rubbish posting on my phone but have read along.
I am doing lots of reading and not much else! Bird watching but no new birds to add to my list. A little treecreeper is keeping me entertained up and down the same tree where I saw one when when we first moved down to the static almost 5 years ago. Surely not the same.bird.
I intended going home Friday but DD and DGDs are coming Friday and want me to stay with them till.Sunday. I must be mad as it will be chaos as their young half siblings will be here at their grans van for the w/e and never away from our van.
Take care all keep safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12
