Years ago we were allowed to keep them inside when building an extension, provided a double sealed cover was used. You'll probably find it's recessed with a floor screed in it. It might not be the easiest of jobs to get it up.

No there is not.  We have had issues on and off for a number years, clears it self and then sometime later happens again.  No idea what could be clogging it up.  It can only be toilet roll as we have no children to stuff things down it.  I don't throw fat down the sink always get rid of it in the bin

Roots or poor gradient I would guess. If no other access you could take the toilet out and jet from there

You need to invest in some drain rods of you're having regular issues. When it's cleared you can usually feel the problem with the rods. The pipes should feel smooth when pushing the rods along.
As Southend_2 said, normally roots or a fracture in the pipes.

Do you know the path the drain takes from your property? You might not have an access point on your land but there might be one further down the run on a neighbouring property. If there is I would start by asking to access that to see if the blockage extends beyond your boundary.

I have the plans from when the extension was built.  it was moved from on the boundary to slap bang in the middle of the extension.  If it was left it would have been in the way for the footings of the extension.  It might mean a chat with the neighbours but we don't have a great relationship with them .  So it would be last resort to talk to them.  Plus they had patio slabs down and then putting decking over it.  So that is not easy access either

Have you considered contacting whoever takes away your sewage? That may or may not be the same company that supplies your water. Portsmouth Water supply our water but Southern Water are responsible for sewage.

We had a not dissimilar issue a few weeks ago. The inspection chamber in front of the house was blocked with a build up of toilet tissue etc. I could not clear it myself so I called Southern Water. They came the following morning and cleared it at no charge.

Your company may take a different approach but it is worth a phone call to ask the question.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

I was always under the impression that what ever pipe work that was in the boundaries of my property were my responsbility to clear and maintain
