Hi - I am looking for assistance as I have recently finished work to provide further care for my Father. My father is in receipt of the lower amount of Attendance Allowance so before I try to claim Carers Allowance I need to know that his AA will not be reduced as a result of my CA claim?
I do not want him to lose out on funds as a result.
Any advice would be great - thank you

His AA will be unaffected by you claiming CA.
However, If he is in receipt of Pension Credit (PC) as a single person, it's possible he may be receiving the severe disability element

This additional element of PC would end when you claim CA.
