3 year refund fight with British Airways! Help!

I don’t know where to turn, I’ve been trying to get a refund from British Airways for a delayed flight I couldn’t book in the pandemic so the operator told me to book any flight so a voucher could be issued. The operator made an error and instead of issuing the voucher put my booking into a purged system. 3 years of hour long holds with tearful phone calls, a years worth of monthly requests on Twitter for updates on the numerous incident and complaints and all I ever get is ‘the refund team are dealing with it and will get back to you’. They’ve more recently said they’ve paid a refund into a PayPal account but won’t give evidence and I know they haven’t as PayPal have searched multiple times and found nothing plus other replies say they need a sales ID to process a refund. Despite evidence that they’ve made a system error so my booking references can’t be found on any of their 3 systems. I’m at a loss of what to do! I’m a single mum who simply wanted to take my son to Disneyland for his 10th birthday that I’d postponed due to the pandemic yet his now 12 years old and am still fighting to get my money back. How on earth a huge company like BA can do this is shocking. Any advice would be appreciated.

    The simple answer is issue them a Letter Before Action, giving them 30 days to pay you, if they dont then instigate small claims court proceedings against them.

    You could take them to CEDR or do a money claim online.
