Specific home insurance query

Hi all,
I'm hoping you can advise on a specific home insurance scenario.
Home is owned by me however is lived in by my mum but no rent is paid. Its what I believe is called a gift with reservation from my mum to me. However when its comes to insuring the house for buildings cover it always tricky explaining this to new insurers. So much so that we have only had 2 insurers cover in the 11-12 years since this arrangement was made. My mum pays her own contents insurance, I pay the building insurance.
The insurers always want the policy holder to live in the house and I've never looked at landlord insurance as no rent is paid. Current policy is doubling this time round, no claims made ever.
Due to rising costs for insurance I want to shop around but can anyone in know if the insurance world advise which insurers are good for specific scenarios like this.

Have you had a quote for landlords insurance?

Speak to a broker. They are more likely to understand the situation than somebody in a call centre who is working from a script.
