Thanks to everyone for their replies. My problem is that I can't have a smart meter where I live but wanted to know whether there is an energy company who would and could switch me to single rate even after they accept I can't have a smart meter fitted once I signed up to them which Bulb and Utility Point did before EDF took over my account and switched me to economy 7.I contacted EDF immediately after this switch and several times since asking for a single rate and even though they said they would, they have never done this.My night storage heaters do not work and my Landlord will not replace them and if I complain I will just get a no fault Section 21 and end up homeless.I therefore have to pay a lot more on a higher day rate as I have to use fan and convector heaters to stay warm in the Winter
Then make a formal complaint about exactly that issue.  If they still don't fix it, go to the Ombudsman.

Firstly - at what point did your night storage heaters stop working ?

Without them I can see why you ight not want to be on e7.

Have you formally complained to EDF about not billing you at single rate ?

And as part of that complaint tried asking for back bills to be corrected to flat rate.

If not do so now, and then if not resolvedafter 8 weeks, or  refuse, try the Ombudsman.  Stating date moved and then requested e7 to single rate - and your claim for kWh mix at costs vs single rate to date - of EO report - and of course stating use going forward until as requested SR applied.

Ypu could attempt the maths or leave it upto Ombudsman /:EDF.
If you want to attempt but struggle to find SR SR cap levels are available with a bit of work on Ofgem and govt EPG  site going back to 2019 if you let us know region and start date - or another EDF customer with their bill rates will help.

There is some Ofgem protection for this for those on many old legacy metering systems - that depending on your existing metering they might well be falling foul of.

Are you aware of your actual landlords attitude from past dealings - or just worried that it may be so.  Many landlords are decent enough - but some sadly are not - even when their tennants are with them.
