I've been receiving a couple of emails last few days from facebook with password reset codes.
I never requested these codes.
I used FB very briefly a few years ago and then deactivated it. Was going to try and delete it completely sometime after that but when i tried to log in it requested me to send ID.
I do not want to do this. Is there some way i can get them to delete it without sending ID?

Probably not - as they'll want to know it's you and not someone else before they delete it.

Can't you just block the sender on your emails?
It's possibily phishing but seeing the sender and if it has a gmail adress that's usually the clue.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

When you send an email there's a name and an email address. Most email clients show the name and you have to tap / click on the name to see the underlying email address.

Suppose the scammers actual email address is scammer@scam.biz then they might set the name to security@facebookemail.com. Someone not digitally savvy would not think or know to check.

So when you get an unexpected email, you should always check who it's actually from.

Possibly/probably fake phishing emails or someone trying to hack your account.

Look at email header information and email content for mistakes to check if it is genuine.
