Except, it appears, there were slots available as of yesterday evening.sheramber said:“However there are zero slots left on the ferry crossing for the day our break is on2 -
Sadly the IofW ferry is notorious for being the most expensive ferry per km on the planet. We went there last year to a Warners Hotel, that’s the adults only ones. They offered us a cheap ferry crossing which was £60 return which is a genuine bargain.

Dont think it's even close to being the most expensive ferry in the UK let alone the world. It's a 6.3km crossing and a day return for a foot passenger with 1 weeks notice is £22.60 so £1.79/km. There is a ferry that runs from the DoubleTree hotel on the south bank of the thames to Canary Wharf on the other side that costs £11.20 for a return and is 300m so works out at £18.67/km so over 10x the costMurphybear said:Sadly the IofW ferry is notorious for being the most expensive ferry per km on the planet.0 -

5/((40/1000)*2) = £62.50/km.photome said:

Presumably difference between ticket and contactless however even at £8.20 is much more expensive than what was claimed as the most expensive ferry in the world per km/mile.0 -
OP - look deeply at what Grumpy Chap has found. My family is from the Island, yes Wightlink are a rip off (welcome to private equity - https://onthewight.com/private-eye-sheds-light-on-the-complex-ownership-of-wightlink-and-impact-on-islanders), I paid over 200 quid to take wife and sprog over last christmas. Islanders get special discounts, we almost had my father come over by foot to drive the car over.Peter
Debt free - finally finished paying off £20k + Interest.1 -
I hope the OP got this sorted and enjoys their holiday 🙂0
