Ants in kitchen

We have a seemingly endless stream of ants in our kitchen - They come in through a wall vent from outside
Is there anything, recommended other than ant powder that we can use to kill them ?
Powder has to be walked through and just kills that ant

I've always found the ant bait stations to be really effective. They take the bait back to the nest and are usually gone within a day.

Eg 2 for £2.95 in Morrisons.

Not one to advocate hurting creatures but I use boiling water, quick and cheap and does the job.

Sounds like they have found a food source, trace and remove that and hopefully things will improve without resorting to chemicals.

You need to get rid of the source of food. If you get rid of one lot of ants they will be replaced by a new lot if the food source remains, and that food may attract things worse than ants such as cockroaches.

Clean the scent trails they have left between food and nest too. I use a vinegar solution. Move the food and disrupt the markings on the path and the ants will go somewhere else. Keep the food sealed and they won't come back.

When I lived in Australia, you literally couldn't leave any food crumbs out or you would have ants. I recommend removing the food source and they will stop coming.
Ant powder is supposed to work as they take it back to the nest before they die and transfer it to others in the nest? I find it works well.. Bait stations did nothing for me.

I had a nest of flying ants on my doorstep last year and in my house bricks outside. I got a pest control guy out who put some powder down but they are coming back this year 😡 No food source for them! I always empty my bins so I don’t understand why they are back 🤷‍♀️

Are they not something different to normal ants? I don't think the powder or anything stops them forever when you consider there are billions under the ground and can just move to your area from another?
I get the flying ants every year, just one of those things - they normally only last a few days.
